Lahore High Court served notices to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s party (PPP) and Jamat-e-Ullema-Fazl (JUI-F) earlier today for not holding intra-party elections.
Stance maintained in the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stated that PML-N, PPP and JUI-F did not conduct party elections, which is violation of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP’s) regulations; ECP therefore should not allot election symbols to these parties in the forth-coming elections.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah issued notices to all the parties and adjourned the case hearing till December 10.
