The key suspect in the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq murder, Khalid Shamim has expressed his wilingness to become an approver in the high-profile case.

The FIA has arrested three suspects — Khalid Shamim, Mohsin Ali Syed and Moazzam Ali — for their alleged role in Dr Farooq’s murder. According to sources, Shamim has confessed to the murder, alleging that he received orders from MQM leader Muhammad Anwar in London to assassinate Dr Farooq.

Today, as Khalid Shamim was being escorted out of court by Law Enforcement Agencies, he pleaded for the public’s help, saying he wants to take the case to the International Court of Justice.

“I know that Altaf Hussain, Mohammad Anwar and accomplices are being helped by MI6, RAW and the CIA,” he said. “I need help. I want to take this case to the International Court of Justice.”

When asked by a journalist if he would become an approver in the case, Shamim responded in the affirmative.

“Yes. Absolutely! I need the public’s help,” he replied.

Earlier, the second accused, Mohsin Ali Syed, has also confessed to his direct involvement in the murder, claiming it was Shamim who had showed him Dr Imran Farooq’s London residence, outside which, the latter was stabbed and beaten to death on September 16 2010.
