Karachi, Sindh, will continue construction on the Karachi BRT Red Line project despite ongoing court proceedings. Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said this.
Memon said the Sindh government had taken difficult decisions to keep the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit project moving. This was due to delays and contractual issues.
He said work accelerated after the project was handed over to the Frontier Works Organisation. The previous contractor’s agreement was terminated after unresolved problems, he added.
Memon acknowledged the disruption commuters faced, particularly along University Road, and said the provincial government was not sitting idle.
He said the affected section of the road would be cleared within three months.

The minister described the Red Line project as a long-term public transport investment and said it would benefit future generations.
Addressing legal challenges, Memon said he hoped the courts would issue a fair ruling. However, he made clear that construction would not be stopped.
He said the project would continue under all circumstances, even if the matter led to contempt of court proceedings
