Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Mohammed Saeed earlier today announced the launch of a movement to oppose United States sanctions on his organization.

Addressing the press outside the JuD center after Friday prayers, he said that the US caused ‘martyrdom’ of thousands of people in Iraq through false propaganda, adding that unarmed Muslims were mass-murdered in Afghanistan as well.

Saeed said that former US president George Bush should be tried for war crimes.

On this occasion, APCA president, lawyers and agricultural figures also said while addressing the crowd that they reject every sanction imposed by the US.

Hafiz Saeed also rejected the United States’ allegations on Thursday while addressing an emergency press conference in Lahore.
Hafiz Saeed said “US restrictions have no value for us.”

He also said that, “the United States always take decisions on Indian dictation. If America has any evidence, it should bring it forward.”

The JuD chief further said he is ready to present his stance but baseless allegations should be avoided, adding that US should review its attitude first.

He claimed that the US pushed Pakistan for North Waziristan operation and wanted to see destruction in the country but the situation is quite different.

Earlier, the U.S. State Department named Jamaat-ud-Dawa “foreign terrorist organization”, a status that freezes any assets it has under U.S. jurisdiction
