Nasir Qayyum Khan, a seasoned journalist with expertise in international relations and human rights and a former Bureau Chief for News One in Islamabad, has stirred attention with his recent post on X, formerly Twitter.
Currently accredited with the UN and State Department, Khan released a video and accompanying property ownership documents suggesting a change in ownership of the Roosevelt Hotel, previously held by Pakistan International Airlines.
In his post, Khan questions the circumstances under which the ownership of this historically valuable asset was transferred to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York. He specifically asked, “Has Shahbaz Sarkar sold the most valuable asset of Roosevelt Hotel Pakistan for two hundred and twenty million dollars under the guise of lease? How did its ownership transfer to an important institution in New York?”
The provocative inquiry highlights concerns about the transparency and legality of the transaction. Khan emphasizes the gravity of the situation, urging the government to provide answers and insisting that the public deserves to know the truth, however unpleasant it may be.
The revelation promises to incite public discourse and potentially prompt governmental scrutiny to address the allegations and clarify the situation surrounding the Roosevelt Hotel’s ownership.
