A Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which was formed by the Punjab government for an in depth probe of the Model Town tragedy issued notices earlier today to eye-witnesses of the incident.
Following a boycott by Dr Tahriul Qadri-led Pakistan Awami Tehreek no one from the party appeared before the JIT to record their statements.
In the given situation, the JIT has now issued notices to witnesses asking them to record their statements before the JIT as soon as they receive (said) notices.
At least 14 people died in Model Town Lahore outside the residence of Qadri after brutal crackdown by Punjab police against PAT workers in June.
