DAMMAM: Saudi authorities said three people died and 10 others were injured in separate attacks on an Aramco oil field and King Fahd International Airport on Wednesday.
One person died in a late attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said eight others suffered injuries.
Emergency teams took the injured to hospital. GACA said their conditions ranged from minor to severe. Authorities were still assessing damage. GACA did not identify the weapon or attacker.
Earlier Wednesday, Saudi air defences intercepted a drone targeting a Saudi Aramco processing facility at the Shaybah oil field.
Falling debris killed a Nepali and a Filipino worker. It injured Pakistani and Indian nationals, the Saudi Energy Ministry said.
Debris also set a contractor’s vehicle outside the facility on fire. Oil-field operations continued normally. Saudi-led coalition forces separately said they destroyed five drones launched towards the kingdom.
