Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, officially ending their two-year marriage. The documents were submitted on Tuesday in Los Angeles, aligning with the second anniversary of their elaborate Georgia wedding.
In her divorce filing, Lopez, representing herself, cited April 26, 2024, as the separation date. Sources close to the couple confirmed the absence of a prenuptial agreement. Lopez also requested that the court waive spousal support for both parties, suggesting an amicable approach to the financial aspects of their separation.
Speculation about their relationship began intensifying in May 2024 when Affleck was seen without his wedding ring. Subsequently, it was reported that he had relocated from their shared Beverly Hills home to a Brentwood property, signalling possible marital discord.
The couple’s visibility diminished significantly, with no public appearances together for over a month. Lopez was spotted house-hunting in Los Angeles during this period, further fueling rumours of their impending split.

Over the summer, Lopez travelled to Italy alone and attended the Dior fashion show in Paris, while Affleck stayed in Los Angeles. Reports indicated that Affleck had moved his belongings from their Beverly Hills residence.
In July, the couple placed their 38,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $68 million, confirming the dissolution of their union.
As Lopez and Affleck part ways, they carry forward a history of high-profile relationships. Lopez’s notable relationships include a marriage to Marc Anthony and an engagement to Alex Rodriguez, which ended in 2021. Affleck, father to three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, had several noted relationships before reuniting with Lopez.
This divorce marks the end of “Bennifer 2.0,” leaving fans to ponder the future paths of these Hollywood icons.
