TEHRAN: Iran’s crushing response warnings followed US strikes in southern Iran. The Khatam-al-Anbiya Central Headquarters called the attacks a “blatant act of aggression.”
The military body said the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran would deliver a “crushing response” to the US actions.
The statement said the strikes took place while the body of Iran’s late supreme leader was being hosted for funeral processions in Iraq.
Iran’s military also said it would not allow outside interference in the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
It said the only safe passage for commercial ships and oil tankers through the waterway was the route designated by Iran.

US Central Command said its forces remained prepared to hold Iran accountable if the agreement was not followed.
CENTCOM identified the vessels attacked on Tuesday as the Marshall Islands-flagged M/T Al Rekayyat. In addition, the Saudi Arabia-flagged M/T Wedyan and the Liberian-flagged M/T Cyprus Prosperity were also attacked.
It described the vessel attacks as unwarranted aggression by Iranian forces and a dangerous violation of the ceasefire.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi denounced the US revocation of Iranian oil export waivers. He also denounced the attacks on Iran in a post on X.
Gharibabadi said the US actions violated Articles 1, 2 and 10 of the Islamabad MoU. He warned that Iran would take decisive steps to protect national interests and security.
Iranian media reported explosions in Sirik, Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island after the US strikes.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman said on Tuesday that an MQ-9 drone belonging to the United States was shot down over Khormoj in Iran’s Bushehr province.
