Ingrid Andress, a four-time Grammy nominee known for her unique blend of pop, R&B, and country music, recently admitted to being intoxicated while performing the national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas. Her off-key rendition quickly stirred reactions across social media.
On Tuesday, Andress openly confessed on social media to her condition during the performance: “I’m not going to bulls**t y’all; I was drunk last night.”
In response to the incident, Andress decided to seek professional help. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is. I hear it’s super fun,” she shared.
Andress’s musical career began at Berklee College with the a cappella group Pitch Slapped and has included successful songwriting stints in Nashville, contributing to hits for artists like Bebe Rexha and Charli XCX. Her debut album, “Lady Like,” broke streaming records for a female country artist in 2020.
