Islamabad, Pakistan: Government sources have denied reports that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan was transferred from Adiala Jail to a hospital for medical treatment.
The officials said no confirmed transfer had taken place for treatment and called the circulating claims baseless. They said any movement or medical arrangement would be communicated through official channels.
Earlier reports had claimed Khan was shifted from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi to Islamabad under tight security for a medical examination. Additionally, those reports said medical teams from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Shifa International Hospital were expected to assess him.
Khan has previously received treatment for an eye condition at PIMS. PIMS administered his third anti-VEGF intravitreal injection on March 23, 2026.

PIMS administration said Khan was examined by ophthalmologists before the procedure and was found to be vitally stable. The hospital said the injection was completed successfully as a day-care procedure, after which he was discharged in stable condition.
The former prime minister has been diagnosed with right central retinal vein occlusion. In February, officials said Khan was in good health after an eye procedure. However, his party and family raised concerns over access to doctors and relatives.
Officials have not issued any fresh confirmation of a hospital transfer. Further clarification is awaited through official channels.
