Islamabad High Court has summoned reply of the federal government over a petition challenging the Protection of Pakistan Act.
A bench of the high court has ordered the government to submit its detailed reply within one week.
Jamshed Dasti MNA yesterday challenged the Protection of Pakistan Act in Islamabad High Court.
The bill passed by the parliament was recently signed into an act of law by the President.
In his petition, Dasti, an independent lawmaker elected from southern Punjab, has claimed that the law violates fundamental human rights.
