On early Thursday, Downdetector.com confirmed that the social media platforms X and X Pro, formerly Twitter and TweetDeck, experienced significant global outages.

On platform X, users faced difficulties viewing posts, with a greeting message stating, “Welcome to X!” Similarly, X Pro users encountered loading issues, with the platform displaying a message of “Waiting for posts.”

The disruption affected a substantial number of users, with over 47,000 in the US alone facing access issues, as per the data collected by Downdetector.

Down detector’s Analysis

Downdetector said a notable surge in complaints was registered over the last 24 hours. The monitoring service highlighted that it only reports incidents when the number of problem reports exceeds the average volume for that specific time of day, indicating the severity of the outage for X and X Pro users.

The situation has drawn considerable attention, reflecting the platforms’ widespread use and the impact of such outages on global communication.

Downdetector is the world’s most frequented platform for tracking the status of various online services, drawing in countless users eager to check the status of their internet, mobile network, online banking, gaming, entertainment, and more.

With the analysis of tens of millions of monthly problem reports, Downdetector provides up-to-the-minute information on over 12,000 services across 47 distinct websites covering 47 countries.

The page offers insight into how Downdetector compiles and examines this vast amount of data to identify service disruptions affecting a provider’s customers. This process informs the service provider and alerts the broader community to potential issues.
