The federal budget 2026-27 will be presented in the National Assembly on June 12, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry announced on Tuesday.
Chaudhry said Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year before the lower house of parliament.
The announcement marks another change in the budget schedule. The federal government had earlier moved the presentation to June 10 after postponing it from June 5.
The latest revision follows consultations with coalition partners over proposed budgetary measures.
The Pakistan Peoples Party, a key ally in the Centre, assured the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led government of support for passing the budget.
The assurance came during a meeting between a PPP delegation led by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

Party sources said both sides reached a broad agreement on most budget proposals. Technical committees will continue talks on the remaining points to finalise the fiscal framework.
The President’s House Secretariat said Zardari stressed public welfare, provincial rights and economic stability in the budget. He also called for growth measures to align with welfare initiatives.
Aurangzeb said last week that the government was working with the International Monetary Fund, allied parties and other stakeholders while preparing the budget.
He said the government was focusing on tax enforcement and broadening the tax base while avoiding new taxes.
Under constitutional requirements, the budget must pass before June 30 to take legal effect from July 1. Budget documents show the federal government has proposed a development budget of more than Rs. 1.1 trillion for fiscal year 2026-27.
