LAHORE, Punjab: The Punjab Police stipend for employees’ children with autism has been increased from Rs30,000 to Rs75,000, the department said under new welfare measures approved by the Inspector General of Punjab Police.
Punjab Police said the enhanced assistance is intended to support the education and development of children with autism and improve their access to educational opportunities.
Scholarships for other levels of education have also been increased. Students pursuing graduation or BS Honours degrees will now receive a minimum annual scholarship of Rs60,000.
The annual scholarship for intermediate students has doubled from Rs25,000 to Rs50,000, according to the department.
For matriculation students whose parents are Grade Four employees, annual assistance has increased from Rs5,000 to Rs20,000.

Punjab Police also said it will cover full tuition fees for employees’ children studying specialised degree programmes, including engineering, medicine, MBA and BBA.
The department said the measures form part of its welfare programme for police personnel and their families.
