Punjab Police has introduced a new e-license system to enhance how drivers across the province access and manage their driving permits. The system aims to reduce unlicensed driving and streamline the verification process for traffic authorities.

Traffic Police Punjab is actively campaigning against driving without a valid license, urging all motorists to comply with legal requirements through proper theoretical and practical examinations. This enforcement ensures that all drivers on the road have undergone the necessary evaluations to maintain safety standards.

Individuals found operating motorcycles, cars, or heavy vehicles without a valid license face potential fines and other legal repercussions. To address this issue and aid drivers, Punjab Police has enabled the Punjab e-license system. This platform allows drivers to download and store their digital driving permits directly on their smartphones, which are recognized as valid proof of licensing by law enforcement officials.

Accessing the Punjab E-License

Drivers looking to obtain their digital license can easily do so by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website: dlims.punjab.gov.pk.
  2. Navigate to the “License Information” tab and select the “E-License” option.
  3. Enter your CNIC number and date of birth.
  4. Click the “Download” button to receive your digital license in PDF format.

Driving License Fee Structure

Acquiring a driving license in Punjab involves a nominal test fee of PKR 150 for new applicants. The fee varies depending on the license duration:

License DurationFee (PKR)
One-year license1,980
Two-year license3,330
Three-year license4,680
Four-year license6,030
Five-year license7,380

This fee structure facilitates the acquisition of a driving license, while the e-license system eliminates the need for physical copies, promoting environmental friendliness and convenience.

Implementing the Punjab e-license system is anticipated to significantly improve traffic law enforcement and reduce incidents of unlicensed driving. By providing a secure and accessible digital solution, Punjab Police sets a precedent for modernizing administrative processes in line with global digital trends. This initiative not only enhances the efficiency of the traffic system but also supports the broader goal of digital governance in the region.
