The Election commission of Pakistan (ECP) has called a consultative meeting of country’s 16 major political parties on October 26 for devising a code of conduct for reducing the use of money in the elections.
The key agenda of the meeting was to review progress on the judgment delivered by Supreme Court in Pakistan Worker’s case. In the judgment the apex had directed ECP to devise a code of conduct for reducing and regulating the use of money in elections, said a press release issued here.
The summoned parties included Awami Muslim League;Pakistan Muslim League (Q); Pakistan Muslim League-Functional;Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz); Awami National Party;Balochistan National Party; Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan; Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-(Fazl); Mutahidda Quomi Movement Pakistan;National Party; National Peoples Party; Pakistan Muslim League (Z);Pakistan Peoples Party (Parliamentarians); Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf; Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party and Quomi Watan Party.
