Drake’s difficult week worsened after a home intrusion attempt in Toronto. This incident followed closely after a drive-by shooting at the rapper’s property.
Toronto police apprehended an intruder at Drake’s residence a day after the shooting incident. The arrest occurred around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8th. Officers responded to reports of someone attempting to enter the property unlawfully.
Police took the intruder into custody under the Mental Health Act, as confirmed to CityNews Toronto. The suspect’s identity has not been disclosed.
This breach adds to the growing security concerns at Drake’s estate. The previous day’s shooting involved unidentified assailants firing at the entrance of a vehicle.
A security guard injured in the incident received hospital treatment for serious injuries. Details of his condition remain confidential.
Shooting Investigation Ongoing
Toronto Police Duty Inspector Paul Krawczyk reported that the shooters escaped in a vehicle, the details of which are still unknown.
Authorities have not linked the shooting directly to the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. This rivalry has recently escalated, capturing significant public attention.
Lamar’s latest release, “Not Like Us,” includes a Google Maps visual of Drake’s house. This act followed a series of musical exchanges between the two, with Drake responding in “The Heart Pt. 6.”
The conflict has also moved online, with Lamar’s supporters renaming locations in Drake’s neighbourhood on Google Maps. These changes include messages targeting Drake.
While the shooting’s motive is still under investigation, there is no confirmed connection to the feud between Drake and Lamar.
