The road link between India and Pakistan was formally restored after Lahore-Delhi ‘Dosti Bus Service’ resumed its operations today (Wednesday).
Both Dosti Bus Service and Samjhota Express were suspended on the request of India in the wake of deadly caste violence in India’s Haryana that killed at least 16 people and injured more than 150 others.
Today, Dosti bus, carrying 21 passengers, headed to India via Wagha border.
Sources said, the bus service has been restored after clearance from Indian authorities. The service remained suspended for two days.
They added that Samjhota Express will resume its operations from tomorrow (Thursday).
Pakistan and Indian authorities had extended the visas of the passengers traveling through the Lahore-Delhi Dosti Bus Service and Samjhota Express on both sides of the border following cast violence in Haryana.
