The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) Central Chairman said yesterday that the existing CNG policy was destroying the Rs450 billion sector.
In a statement, Khattak claimed that the CNG industry has been reducing pollution, cutting oil import bill and clipping inflation but still it was facing harsh treatment.
“The CNG sector, which is providing jobs and affordable transportation to tens of millions of people, deserves better treatment by the policy-makers,” he asserted.
Price of CNG, he claimed, has been kept suspended for one and a half years while the prices of natural gas, electricity tariff and taxes continued to increase which has pushed many CNG operators into bankruptcy.
