PESHAWAR: TransPeshawar requires passengers to complete Zu Card registration and biometric verification with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) by December 31 to keep using the city’s transit system.
Unregistered cards will become unusable for travel from January 1, 2027, and this applies to all Zu Cards used on Zu Peshawar.
Passengers can register at ticket counters at every Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station during station operating hours. They need their original Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and Zu Card.
Station staff record passengers’ information, verify their biometrics and complete registration. Registration costs 10 rupees per Zu Card.

For passengers under 18, TransPeshawar allows registration through a B Form or a parent’s or legal guardian’s CNIC. Requirements differ according to the document used:
- B Form: Bring the child’s Zu Card and B Form. This route requires biometric verification.
- Parent or guardian’s CNIC: Bring the child’s Zu Card and the adult’s original CNIC. The relevant parent or guardian must attend for biometric verification.
Foreign passengers can travel using a Single Journey Ticket or the Zu App.
TransPeshawar Chief Executive Officer Dr Syed Murtaza Asghar Bukhari said identity verification aims to improve system security and support safer, more organised travel.
Bukhari urged passengers to register early to avoid travel disruption and queues at counters in the final days.
