Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will formally inaugurate the Karachi Orange Line bus project today, according to Sindh Transport Minister Mumtaz Jakhrani.
According to the provincial transport minister, as many as 50,000 Karachiites will be avail to commute on a daily basis via the Orange Line bus project when it is finished.
“The Orange line project will be from TMA Chowk Orangi Town till the Matric Board Office area,” said Jakhrani. “A 4.7 kilometer track will be laid down and completed within a span of one year,” he added.
The transport minister also informed that an amount of Rs 1 billion and 45 crore have been allocated for the Orange Line project. Jakhrani also claimed that the Sindh government had obtained the tender at an amount which saved the government Rs 30 crore, which was for the very first time in Sindh that a project was being obtained on tender at such a low cost.
