The British Council Pakistan announced that all scheduled examinations will proceed as planned on Wednesday, despite escalating India-Pakistan tensions following Indian airstrikes and Pakistan’s retaliation.
On May 7, 2025, the British Council Pakistan confirmed via its official Facebook page that all examinations will go ahead as scheduled, addressing concerns over disruptions caused by heightened India-Pakistan hostilities, as reported by The News International.
“We will keep you updated if there are any changes,” the statement read, directing queries to schools or the Customer Services centre for private candidates. The announcement, shared widely on X and Facebook, reassures students and parents navigating the fallout from military escalations along the Line of Control (LoC).
The tensions stem from India’s missile strikes on Pakistani cities, including Kotli and Muzaffarabad, following the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which killed 26, mostly tourists, per Reuters.
India baselessly blamed Pakistan, prompting retaliatory measures like suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, countered by Pakistan’s trade bans and airspace closures, per Dawn. Pakistan’s military responded decisively, downing five Indian Air Force jets (three Rafales, one MiG-29, one SU-30), a Heron drone, and destroying a brigade headquarters, as confirmed by ISPR’s Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.
