The Baluchistan Assembly on Thursday unanimously adopted the Balochistan Prohibition of Private Money Lending Bill, 2014.
The bill was tabled by Minister for Information and Law Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal. Several lawmakers lauded the passage of the bill aimed at eradicating usury from society.
They said private money lending business had destroyed hundreds of families in the province, adding that making money from usury was prohibited in Islam.
