Azerbaijan has shown interest in purchasing Pakistani defence products, including the upgraded version of Pakistan’s JF-17 fighter aircraft.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is on official visit is expected to strengthen cooperation in the military and defence sectors of the two nations.
Both sides agree that a high-level delegation will come to Pakistan to attend the Defence-Expo in November. Which will held in Karachi. The delegation will also visit defence production facilities in Pakistan to look into the possibility of buying defence-related products.
Pakistan has offered Azerbaijan several indigenously developed defence products, including the JF-17 fighter and Mushshaq trainer aircraft.
At present, Pakistan is selling some conventional weaponry to the US, UK, Germany and some Far Eastern countries.
Other defence products offered include armoured and unarmoured vehicles, command and control systems, ammunition, body armour and personnel protection systems, and anti-aircraft defence systems.
