The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restricted ARY anchor Mubashir Lucman from conducting any program on television.
The court was hearing the petition filed by Shohada Foundation Pakistan (SFP) against a TV program on ARY News intending to malign the higher judiciary.
The petitioner stated that “some anchors particularly Mubashir Lucman are conducting such programs that are malicious to the integrity, honour, respect and independence of the superior judiciary.”
Mubashir Lucman on ARY News continued defaming the former Chief Justice (retd) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and other senior judges particularly Justice Jawad S Khawaja of the Supreme Court in a clandestine manner, the petitioner stated.
Therefore, the petitioner requested the court to restrain Mubashar Lucman from conducting contemptuous programs against the judiciary.
The honorable court barred Mubashir Lucman from conducting any show on any TV channel until the next hearing of the case.
