Arsenal Burnley ended 1-0 at Emirates Stadium in London on Monday, as Kai Havertz moved Arsenal closer to their first league title in 22 years.
Havertz scored shortly before halftime. The German forward headed in Bukayo Saka’s corner to break Burnley’s resistance, according to match reports.
As a result, Arsenal moved to 82 points from 37 Premier League games. Manchester City have 77 points from 36 matches before their trip to Bournemouth.
However, the title is not sealed yet. Arsenal will win the Premier League if Manchester City fail to beat Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Tuesday.
If City win, the race goes to the final day. Arsenal can still guarantee the title by beating Crystal Palace away on Sunday.
Burnley tested Arsenal early with two quick corners. Yet the visitors could not punish Mikel Arteta’s side before Havertz struck from Arsenal’s set-piece routine.
After the break, Arsenal missed chances to settle the match. Eberechi Eze hit the crossbar, while Havertz escaped a possible red card after a VAR check on his tackle.
