The Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has assured high security measures would be taken in next few days including Ashoora Muharram.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Chaudhry Nisar said that the Interior Ministry has deployed 32,000 military and paramilitary troops in 54 cities countrywide, which will assist the relative provincial governments to ensure law and order during Ashoora Muharram.
He said that 12 choppers will also be there for air-surveillance of the processions in different cities.
He further added that “Apart from all this, mobile services could also be suspended on 9th and 10 Muharram ul Haram at specified locations during a certain period of time”.
