TEHRAN: Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei said Iran will not move enriched uranium abroad or resume US negotiations until Washington takes trust-building steps and meets Tehran’s conditions.
Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), made the remarks on Tuesday during talks with Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. “Not a single gram of enriched uranium will be removed from Iran,” Rezaei said.
He described the nuclear material as a national asset for domestic use. Rezaei also ruled out immediate talks with Washington unless the US takes action to restore trust.
Tehran has previously linked renewed negotiations to demands involving the US naval blockade, oil sanctions, frozen Iranian assets and regional hostilities.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reinforced the negotiating position during talks with Munir. He called for Washington to remove sanctions, pressure and threats before dialogue resumes.

Washington has sought the transfer of Iranian enriched uranium outside the country as part of a possible agreement. Iranian officials have repeatedly rejected that demand.
Pakistan has been trying to facilitate dialogue between Tehran and Washington as tensions continue over Iran’s nuclear programme and the wider regional conflict.
Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei ruled out transferring enriched uranium abroad and said talks with Washington would remain suspended until the US meets Tehran’s conditions.
