At least eight Pakistani fighter jets launched airstrikes against militant hideouts in Dehgan area of Miranshah in North Waziristan early morning today, killing more than 50 Uzbek militants.
The strikes targeted eight hideouts of Uzbek militants in Dehgan, a remote village near Pak-Afghan border.
“The strikes were carried out based on confirmed reports about the presence of Uzbek and other militants in the area,” an official said.
According to sources, Uzbek militant commander and mastermind of Karachi airport attack, Abu Rehman, was also killed during Sunday’s air strikes. Abu Rehman was also involved in Bannu Jail attack.
It was about time. Till now the Govt has been pushing hard for peace which is a language terrorists don’t understand. It is a fact which the Govt doesn’t understand. It’s about time we set the record straight.
