TEHRAN: A US strike on an Iranian wedding gathering killed four people, including a child, and injured more than 50 in southern Hormozgan province, Iran’s Red Crescent said on Tuesday.
The organisation said missile shrapnel struck a residential home in Kuhestak, Sirik County, where a wedding celebration was taking place.
Iran’s Red Crescent reported more than 50 injuries and four deaths. Earlier, Hormozgan Deputy Governor Ahmad Nafisi had told Iranian state television that two people had died and several others were wounded.
Video published by an Iranian government account showed extensive debris and damage at what authorities identified as the wedding site in Sirik. The footage could not be independently verified from the supplied material.
Sirik County lies on Iran’s southern coast along the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic route at the centre of recent US-Iran hostilities.
The United States said its forces were striking targets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) following what it described as attempted attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and on American military personnel in the region, the intended target of the strike in Sirik County.
Iranian media also reported explosions Tuesday in several cities around and east of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as at an airport in Kerman province.

The latest violence comes amid continuing hostilities between the United States and Iran that began in late February 2026, with sporadic attacks continuing around the Hormuz region after an earlier period of sustained fighting.
