Another First Information report (FIR) was registered against Zakhiur Rehman Lakhvi, the alleged mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, in Islamabad for allegedly kidnapping a person named Anwar Khan on Tuesday.
The FIR was lodged at Koldha police station. ”Police have registered an FIR No 290,” sources confirmed.
On December 29, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had temporarily suspended the detention orders for Lakhvi, who had challenged his detention.
Lakhvi’s counsel Raja Rizwan Abbasi argued that the governmental authorities had detained his client under Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) for 30 days even though he was granted bail by the anti-terrorism court.
