US forces neutralized unmanned vessels, cruise missiles in Yemen, and a drone over the Red Sea on Monday, addressing maritime threats, according to military statements.

Yemen’s Houthis have escalated shipping attacks, challenging US and British efforts to secure a crucial international maritime corridor.

CENTCOM announced the elimination of three unmanned vessels, two anti-ship missiles, and an attack drone on social media, aiming to protect Red Sea navigation.

From 4:45 pm to 11:45 pm Sanaa time, the military operation was executed in self-defence, targeting imminent dangers to commercial and US Navy ships.

Over the weekend, US and British forces struck 18 Houthi sites, targeting military assets across Yemen, a joint statement revealed.

Houthi reports acknowledged one fatality and eight injuries from these strikes, underscoring the conflict’s human toll.

A multinational statement endorsed by several countries highlighted over 45 attacks on maritime vessels since mid-November, stressing the global economic and regional security risks.

Initiating Red Sea shipping attacks in November, the Houthis aimed at Israeli-affiliated vessels, expressing solidarity with Palestinians affected by the conflict in Gaza.

In response to attacks on maritime routes, the Houthis have also identified American and British interests as targets.

The Middle East has witnessed escalating tensions following Israel’s military actions in Gaza, initiated by a Hamas attack, fueling regional unrest involving Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.
