Washington: President Donald J. Trump announced plans to host a temporary UFC arena on the White House South Lawn for UFC Freedom 250 on June 14, 2026. The event coincides with his 80th birthday, Flag Day, and the U.S. 250th anniversary.
Meanwhile, the Ellipse Park will host a free public viewing area for 75,000 to 100,000 spectators. Large screens will broadcast the fights. Additionally, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that military personnel will receive priority access to the VIP enclosure.
The arena will hold 4,000 to 5,000 covered seats for service members, dignitaries, and private guests. The fight card includes Ilia Topuria defending the Undisputed Lightweight Championship against Justin Gaethje.
Also, Alex Pereira will face Ciryl Gane for the Interim Heavyweight Championship. Trump said construction will begin in early May 2026.
The Department of Homeland Security designated UFC Freedom 250 as SEAR 1, the highest security tier, on par with the Super Bowl.
Officials said the plan integrates the Secret Service, local police, air security, and cyber protection to safeguard the White House and broadcast operations.

The arena is temporary and privately funded. Prefabricated components are built in Pennsylvania and shipped to Washington. Post-event restoration includes a $700,000 budget to replace the South Lawn grass.
Analysts noted the event blurs the line between government and commercial entertainment. However, the administration frames it as a high-profile celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
