Numerous passengers faced disruptions as several flights, including those by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other private carriers, were cancelled from Karachi. This impacted travel across various destinations, with a total of 19 flights being cancelled.
Affected flights included services from Karachi to Islamabad by Air Sial and PIA and an Emirates Air flight to Dubai. Additionally, cancellations affected Fly Jinnah’s Karachi to Lahore route and Fly Baghdad’s service to Baghdad. PIA’s flights to Jeddah and Islamabad from Karachi also experienced cancellations.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) cited significantly low passenger volumes, especially during Ramadan, for these cancellations. This adjustment was made due to diminished air travel demand during the holy month.
Passengers impacted by these cancellations have been directed to contact their airlines for information on alternative travel options and assistance.
