Tim Dillon, an actor in Joker: Folie à Deux, criticized the film harshly during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, calling it “the worst movie ever made.” The film has received negative feedback from both critics and the public.
Dillon expressed confusion over the film’s direction and plot when discussing his role as a guard at Arkham Asylum. “Myself and other supporting actors were constantly questioning what was happening with the plot,” he explained. According to Dillon, the film suffered from unclear scripting and development.
He further critiqued the filmmakers’ decisions to avoid the controversial themes that marked the first ‘Joker’ film, suggesting that this shift was intended to dodge criticism and resulted in a watered-down sequel. “The creators backed down too much,” Dillon remarked.
Despite the success of the first Joker film, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide and won an Oscar, Joker: Folie à Deux did not achieve similar acclaim. It barely reached $200 million at the box office and earned a low 32% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Dillon concluded his critique by emphasizing that the production team ignored the insights of those involved in the project, including the supporting actors who anticipated the project’s shortcomings from the start. “It has been the worst ever made,” he stated definitively.
