Three levies officials were killed and three others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded earlier today in Bajaur Agency while the personnel were guarding a polio team.

A political administration officer and two levies personnel were among the injured.

The officials were escorting polio teams in Chargo Tehsil Salarzai, when they hit a road side IED.

Agency Headquarter Hospital medical superintendent Muhammad Nazeer identified the deceased as Shafiullah, Ubaidullah and Ehsanullah.

Further, he said political administration official Sahibzada was airlifted to Peshawar in critical condition while the two injured levies official were also shifted to Peshawar.
