Seven death row convicts hanged to death in four different cities of the country early mroning on Tuesday [today].
According to details, a convict named Behram Khan hanged in Karachi. He had killed a lawyer in the Sindh High Court (SHC) premises back in 2003.
Behram’s execution will be the first one taking place at Central Jail Karachi since 2008.
In Sukkur prison, three convicts namely Muhammad Talha, Khalil Ahmad and Shahid Hanif were also executed at 6.30 am. They were convicted for the killing of a senior official of the Defense Ministry and his driver.
Separately, two more convicts Naik Nawazish Ali and Mushtaq Ahmad involved in attacks on Mehran Base and former president Pervez Musharraf hanged in District Jail Faisalabad.
Zulfikar was hanged in Adiyala Jail at 6.30 am. Zulfikar was sentenced for waging an attack on the US Consulate in Karachi.
Jail authorities had earlier arranged the last meeting between convicts and their families.
Stern security arrangements have been made in view of the execution of convicts at relative prisons.
