Rawalpindi: Two brothers were shot to death by Rawalpindi police at Sixth Road near Holy Family Hospital late Saturday.
According to police sources, Muhafiz Squad signaled to pull over two brothers identified as Zeshan and Shakeel riding on motorbike on Sixth Road in the limit of New Town police station, but they did not do it. On this, police opened gunfire, killing one of them on the spot, while other brother succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
The decedents were residents of Dhoke Ali Akbar area of Rawalpindi.
On the other hand police are trying to give impression that the killings are a result of a police encounter.
RPO Rawalpindi Malik Israr and other high ups reached the hospital and assured the heirs of the boys for justice.
The officials said two police personnel, involved in the firing, have been arrested while raids were being conducted to arrest the two others.
