LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur secured their first Premier League win of the season on Monday, beating Coventry City 3–1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
James Maddison opened the scoring before Omar Marmoush restored the hosts’ lead after Jack Rudoni equalised. Substitute Ben Davies added a late third.
The victory lifted Roberto De Zerbi’s side from bottom to 16th. Frank Lampard’s Coventry dropped to 17th, with both clubs on six points. Coventry threatened early through Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, but Tottenham struck first in the 14th minute.
Mohammed Kudus beat his marker on the right and supplied Maddison, who curled a shot into the top corner. It was Maddison’s first league goal since February 2025.

However, Rudoni brought Coventry level shortly after half-time. He collected the ball following deflections inside the penalty area and finished past Antonin Kinsky.
Marmoush responded in the 58th minute with his first Tottenham goal. The Egyptian turned his defender before curling a shot into the far corner. After Andrew Robertson was injured, De Zerbi introduced Davies in the 69th minute.

Davies sealed the result six minutes into stoppage time. Coventry failed to clear Mathys Tel’s cross, and Dominic Solanke helped the ball into the defender’s path.
Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski returned as a late substitute after a knee injury had kept him out for 526 days. Tottenham beat Coventry 3–1 to end their six-match winless start to the Premier League season.
