Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rauf Siddiqui on Tuesday night reached Liaquatabad area and took custody of the 26 underage girls recovered by police.
Acting on a tip-off from neighbors, Karachi police conducted the raid at a house in Liaquabad’s C1 area and recovered some girls, aged between 8 and 10.
Police sources say that the girls were brought to Karachi from Bajaur Agency and were imprisoned on the non-payment of 25000 rupees. The MQM leader ordered that the girls be handed over to Orphanage and said that his party would arrange food for the girls.
The raid also coincided with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
