Lahore: Punjab Provincial Government has deployed Rangers at Youhanabad to control violent protesters.
According to sources, the district administration requested Punjab Provincial Government for Rangers to maintain law and order situation in Youhanabad as protests continued for a second day in the wake of twin suicide attacks on churches in Lahore.
The death toll in Sunday’s bombings rose to 17 as three more people succumbed to their injuries.
According to sources, Rangers will assist Punjab police and law enforcement agencies to restore peace in the area.
Former Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah while talking to media told that talks between church leaders and officials were successful.
He further added that Church officials were in Youhanabad to disperse the crowd.
