Female activists from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rallied outside Adiala Jail, calling for the release of the party’s founder and highlighting his alleged mistreatment. The protest intensified when police clashed with media personnel, aggressively preventing cameramen and reporters from filming despite the presence of SP Nabil Khokhar from Saddar Division.

Many female activists assembled, led by PTI leader Kanwal Shauzab, displaying placards and chanting for their leader’s freedom. The significant turnout prompted a robust police deployment at the site.
Kanwal spoke out against the Adiala police’s forceful measures, highlighting the peaceful nature of the protesters compared to the armed response of the police. She stressed that stifling peaceful dissent was detrimental to the nation’s progress and underscored the harsh conditions faced by the PTI founder in jail.
Shauzab also criticized the Punjab government for exacerbating the situation and argued that mistreating the PTI leader would not endear the current rulers to the public. She rebuked remarks by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, warning of repercussions involving former premier Nawaz Sharif should any harm befall the PTI founder.
Despite the tension, the protest concluded peacefully after more than an hour. Nevertheless, Shauzab voiced concerns about potential false charges against the demonstrators.
