GUJRANWALA: Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold a public meeting in Gujranwala’s Jinnah Stadium today.
The organizing committee has claimed to place 20,000 chairs whereas there is a capacity in the ground to host at least 30,000 people in three enclosures of the rally venue.
Earlier, panaflexes of PTI and Imran Khan were defaced in many parts of the city ahead of the rally.
Twenty four CCTV cameras have been installed in the entry and exit points of the site. More than 2000 police officers will perform duties inside the stadium whereas 15 vehicles of Elite Force will patrol outside the venue.
One thousand police commandos have also been placed on high alert.
It should be noted that security for the public gathering has been tightened due to fears of clashes between PTI and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) activists.
Eight makeshift gates have been installed including four for men, two for women, one for media and VIPs each.
