Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari yesterday gave his perspective amidst swirling speculations of rifts within the Peoples’ Party.
In a message on twitter, Bilawal said that the PPP leadership stood united, adding that anyone talking against the leadership is not a well-wisher.
“The PPP stands united, anyone claiming otherwise and speaking against the leadership is no friend of the party,” he tweeted.
Bilawal’s statement comes the day when disgruntled PPP leaders Amin Fahim and Zulfiqar Mirza arrived in London, where he is staying.
Mirza had severely criticized the party leadership, especially the co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for “destroying the party”.
“Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto did not sacrifice her life to help Mr Zardari become a billionaire,” Mirza said talking to the media a few days ago.
Differences between Fahim and Zardari surfaced after the PPP leadership decided to appoint Sherry Rehman as Vice President of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP).
Fahim, who is president of PPPP, complained that he was not taken into confidence upon the development.
