TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) pointed to seven Hormuz internet cables on Monday while warning that it would unveil new targets and weapons.
Spokesman Hossein Mohebbi referred to the submarine communications links during remarks at Tehran’s Sacred Defence Museum.
He warned that insecurity for Iran would mean insecurity elsewhere in the region. However, his remarks did not specify an attack date or identify individual cable systems.
Hespress described the warning as a threat to target the cables beneath the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard pointed to undersea internet cables while warning that it would identify new targets.

The warning also follows reported Iranian threats against data centres and telecommunications infrastructure linked to US technology companies in the Gulf if confrontation with Washington resumes.

Those reports concern potential targets, not confirmed damage. The material does not establish that Iran has attacked a cable or caused an internet outage.
