Information Minister, Pervaiz Rasheed refuted as baseless allegations, the reports that Pakistan Muslim League-N was part of a negotiated deal with the establishment on giving the former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf a safe exit.
“Such reports are baseless and mere propaganda,” Rasheed said at a media interaction here, adding, the detractors want to see the terrorists’ triumph.
On Friday former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani had claimed that political leaders had negotiated a deal with the establishment for giving Gen Musharraf a safe exit.
Pervaiz Rasheed said that Pak army has been entrusted with an important responsibility and that the powers allowed to them are very much within the parameters of the constitution.
“The government, political parties, people and media support with one voice the steps being taken by the army,” the Information Minister said, regretting, spreading misgivings and doubts is tantamount to backing the terrorists.
