US Vice President JD Vance expects President Donald Trump to endorse him if he runs for president in 2028. However, he says they have not discussed that possibility.
In an interview with journalist Mark Halperin, Vance said: “I think he will… I haven’t talked to him about it.” Halperin conducted the conversation aboard Air Force Two on Monday during Vance’s campaign trip to North Carolina.
Turning to the midterms, Vance expressed uncertainty about Republican prospects. On foreign policy, he described Ukraine as a partner but called for it to stop bombing Russian energy infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Halperin’s latest “Next Up” episode revisits the interview, including Vance’s political future and Republican hopes of retaining both congressional chambers.
