The Prime Minister’s office received the summary on the future army chief.
Accordingly to the local news channel, “Geo News,” General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), will retire on November 29 and PM Office has received the names for the future COAS.
Sources said that high-ranking officials are meeting to discuss the appointment of a new chief of army staff (COAS) and chairman joints chiefs of staff committee (CJCSC).
Sources said PM Shehbaz would chair the meeting in the prime minister’s house.
The potential five names of the top brass include Lt Gen Asim Munir, Lt Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Lt Gen Azhar Abbas, Lt Gen Nauman Mehmood, and Lt Gen Faiz Hamid.
