Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left for New Delhi earlier today to attend the oath taking ceremony of Indian Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant to PM on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Secretary to PM Javed Aslam, Aizaz Ahmed and son Hussain Nawaz will accompany Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The delegation will arive at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 11:00am IST.
Narendra Modi s swearing-in ceremony, to be held at the forecourt of the historic Rashtrapati Bhavan, is likely to be attended by as many as 3,000 guests including leaders of all South Asian countries.
It is the first time since the two countries won independence in 1947 that a prime minister from one state will attend such a ceremony in the other.
